What do we need to bring to outdoor classes?
Wear comfortable, breathable clothing. Bring a blanket or towel – something to sit on. We will have water and sunscreen, but you’re welcome to bring your own! If you have an umbrella or shade-creating device, we recommend bringing it to provide shade to your family when needed.
What does ACMS provide?
We will have water bottles and sunscreen on hand for you and your children. We will also provide some fans to help with air circulation. Sanitized instrument kits will be provided to each family. Instrument kits to take home will be available for purchase. Indoor restrooms will be available.
What’s the difference between Rock All Ages, Canta y Baila Conmigo, and Outdoor Family Music?
Our Summer 1 Rock All Ages and Canta y Baila Conmigo classes meet weekly for six weeks. Rock All Ages uses rock and pops songs reworked by one of our Early Childhood Music teachers. Canta y Baila Conmigo is an immersive Spanish language class featuring music and movement. Outdoor Family Music experiences are offered as individual experiences, for those who are unable to commit to a full 6-week program. All curriculums are designed to stimulate your child’s growth using songs and fun music-related activities.

Which should I sign up for?
If you can commit to one of the 6-week programs, we’d encourage that. As with any sort of education, repeated experiences will help your child learn and begin to develop an understanding and expectation – pattern recognition, etc. If you’re unable to commit now or if you’d simply like a chance to explore the format, then we suggest the Outdoor Family Music experiences.
What should we expect?
Fun! If you’re familiar with our other Early Childhood Music classes (both pre- and post-COVID), these are very much the same. A hello song starts off the class. Various chants, songs, dance/movement, and focus songs follow. There will be a lullaby or wind-down song, ending with a goodbye song.
Are Rock All Ages classes outdoors, indoors, or virtual?
Unless otherwise noted, all Rock All Ages classes are outdoors in our parking lot. We do have a few classes being offered online for those who are not able or comfortable to meet in person.
Are you offering Rhythm Kids in the Summer?
Rhythm Kids will return in Summer 2 (mid July through August). For Summer 1, we have our Little Drummers, Big Voices class for kids age 3-5. Kids will engage in rock and roll, learn about and meet some of the instruments in rock bands, all while continuing their musical development!
When will classes be offered indoors?
We don’t have a firm date yet. We are following guidelines set down by the CDC and other Music Together centers. More info coming soon.
What happened to the All Access Pass?
Given the low number of virtual classes, anyone who signs up for a virtual class is automatically granted the All Access Pass to other virtual classes. You’ll still need to sign up for your primary class, however.
What if there’s bad weather?
In the case of weather, we have a few plans already set up. Notifications will go out the night before that we are watching the weather. And a notification will be sent two hours before the first class indicating whether the class will run and, if so, if any special weather accommodations will be observed.
Weather Plans & Policies:
If severe inclement weather is expected your class will either move inside or to ZOOM for that day. You will be notified by email the evening before class and sent the ZOOM link if applicable. Whether your class moves indoors or to ZOOM is dependent on class size. Indoor classes will have 2 HEPA air filters running for the duration of class and all attendees over the age of 5 are required to be masked. Please note that in keeping with best practices for Early Childhood programming, ZOOM sessions will be 30 minutes.
Will classes return to Christ Lutheran Church or Belmont Retirement Village?
We are currently in discussions with CLC and Belmont as to their safety policies and building availability. We do not have any classes scheduled in either location for Summer 1. We expect to return to CLC soon and will share any updates on Belmont as soon as we can.
