Dates: 09/08/2025 - 11/22/2025
Class Length: 45 minutes
Music Together® Generations is a mixed-age (ages 0-5) music class with the sweetest twist: the addition of elder participants! In senior residential and day programs across the country, people of all ages come together to sing, dance, shake shakers, and swing scarves. For many years, ACMS has held these intergenerational classes only at Belmont Village in West Lake Hills (4310 Bee Cave Rd., West Lake Hills, 78746). We are happy to be including a new location this fall! Join us at Querencia at Barton Creek (2500 Barton Creek Blvd, Austin, 78735)!
As the children’s music-learning is nurtured, families also foster new and important relationships with the senior participants, who we call “Musical Grandfriends.” Seniors look forward to the children's lively visits and the
chance to share memories and stories. The additional cognitive, physical, and emotional benefits for both children and elders make the Generations class a heartwarming win-win for everyone.
In the Flute Song Collection, we'll get out our instruments and play along to the jazzy original "Blue St. Pat," search the "Pawpaw Patch," and climb aboard the "Train to the City." And those are only three of the twenty-five songs you'll learn, which include Music Together originals and traditional songs. In addition to your weekly classes, your tuition includes recordings and materials for you to use at home, including an illustrated songbook and access to the songs through the Music Together app.
You'll value bringing this class into your child's foundational years. And if you haven't had much experience with older adults, you'll love what this class does for you, too!
